OMB Peezy was the target of a shooting incident that took place outside a nightclub in North Carolina over the weekend. According to CBS 17, the shooting occurred early Sunday morning, April 13, outside the StarBar in east Raleigh, as the club was letting out. Witnesses reported hearing more than 20 shots fired at Peezy’s sprinter van while he attempted to leave the parking lot.
One witness recounted, “I would say about 4 a.m. is when we heard shots fired outside the club and everybody pretty much ran outside. We couldn’t really tell where the shots were coming from.” In addition to the damage to Peezy’s vehicle, four other cars were also struck by gunfire, and additional vehicles were damaged as Peezy’s driver sped away from the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the shooting.
Authorities are treating the incident as an aggravated assault and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
This incident is not Peezy’s first brush with the law. Back in 2021, he faced arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. At the time, he expressed confusion over the police’s presence at his home, stating, “I was just trying to figure out what the fuck was going on, why the police at my door for.” Despite his protests of innocence, he was taken into custody with a bond set at $60,000.
Peezy’s troubles were exacerbated by a prior incident in February 2021 when gunfire erupted during a music video shoot involving Roddy Ricch and 42 Dugg, although he insisted there was no animosity between him and either artist. “I don’t have no smoke with Roddy Ricch,” he stated previously. “I don’t have no smoke with 42 Dugg… But you know, the internet will try to run with it and try to make their own story and shit.”
As the details surrounding the recent shooting unfold, fans and industry observers are left hoping for Peezy’s safety and well-being amid a tumultuous period in his life. The music community continues to watch closely as he navigates these challenges while maintaining his artistic career.
