Erykah Badu Makes a Triumphant Return with New Album Under Her Own Label!

Erykah Badu is set to make waves once again with her first studio album in over 15 years, and this time, she’s doing it on her own terms. The genre-defying singer announced on Instagram on June 5 that her highly anticipated project, produced entirely by The Alchemist, will be released under her own label, Control FREAQ Records. In her signature style, she kept the announcement brief yet impactful: “Let’s go.”

This upcoming album marks Badu’s first since New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh, which came out in 2010. Fans can look forward to a lead single dropping this summer, followed closely by the full album. Earlier this year, Badu hinted at the project’s development, emphasizing her collaboration with The Alchemist, a renowned producer known for his unique sound.

Control FREAQ Records, a label founded by Badu in 2005, serves as a platform for her creative freedom and ownership. This move signifies a new level of independence for the Dallas-born artist, who has spent over two decades reshaping the neo-soul genre.

With this new chapter, Badu is poised to reclaim her spotlight, bringing her authentic voice, message, and sound to the forefront. The upcoming music promises to showcase her growth while staying true to the thought-provoking, genre-blending style that has captivated audiences for years.

In addition to her album release, Badu is gearing up for live performances, with shows scheduled for June 14 in Vienna, Virginia, and June 15 in Atlantic City. She will also take her talents overseas to Japan at the end of the month.

Fans are encouraged to keep an eye on her social media for sneak peeks and updates. One thing is clear: Erykah Badu is back, and with Control FREAQ Records, she’s in full control of her artistic journey!
