In a shocking development from North Carolina, Darrius “King Blood” Tyson, a notorious gang leader currently incarcerated on murder and other serious charges, is now facing allegations of impregnating two female jail staff members while behind bars. Prosecutors claim that Tyson used his influence and “unmatched charm” to manipulate and seduce both a nurse, Lerin Burnette, and a detention sergeant, Jade Robertson, resulting in pregnancies with each of them.
Additionally, a third jail worker, Sergeant Nicole Locke, has been charged for allegedly smuggling a cellphone to Tyson, enabling him to orchestrate gang operations from within the facility. Tyson, considered one of the highest-ranking members of the Bloods gang in the state, has a history of serious criminal activity, having previously been convicted of murder in 2010. However, that conviction was overturned in 2020 due to prosecutorial misconduct.
While Tyson awaits trial for a 2022 case involving murder, kidnapping, and burglary, it is alleged that he maintained control over gang activities using contraband cellphones and developed inappropriate relationships with jail employees. The state law classifies any sexual activity with an inmate as non-consensual, regardless of perceived willingness, leading to felony charges against the nurse and the officer involved.
Tyson’s defense attorney has argued that he is the actual victim in these relationships, while his mother has publicly claimed that her son is being unfairly targeted. Following the scandal, Tyson was transferred from the Durham County jail to a high-security state prison for security reasons. His next court appearance is scheduled for February 2025.
As this case unfolds, it raises serious questions about security protocols in correctional facilities and the potential for exploitation within the inmate-staff dynamic. For more updates on this developing story and other national news, stay tuned to hiphopraisedmetheblog.com!
