A routine traffic stop in Valdosta, Georgia, turned into a significant drug bust on August 15, 2025, when detectives with the Valdosta Police Department seized drugs, cash, and tools indicative of narcotics sales. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. when officers pulled over a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Samuel McBurrough.
During the stop, a clear bag containing suspected cocaine and Alpha-PVP—commonly known as Flakka—dropped from McBurrough’s shorts, prompting further investigation. The police reported that the drugs were packaged in a manner consistent with distribution.
Following the traffic stop, the VPD K9 Unit, alongside detectives, executed a search warrant at McBurrough’s residence. The search yielded additional narcotics, including over one ounce of cocaine, a quantity of Alpha-PVP, and 1.6 pounds of marijuana, along with scales and cash.
As a result of the investigation, McBurrough was arrested and transported to Lowndes County Jail. He now faces multiple charges, including trafficking cocaine, possession of Alpha-PVP with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects.
