Events: 6 Flavor-Packed Food Festivals Happening Soon in NYC

Get ready for a culinary adventure in the Big Apple as New York City prepares to host a series of exciting food festivals this fall! These events not only showcase delicious cuisine but also celebrate the rich cultural traditions and community connections that food embodies. With autumn being a time of harvest, these festivals will highlight fresh, seasonal ingredients and offer a feast for the senses.

Kicking off the festivities is Japan Fes, a vibrant street food festival dedicated to all things Japanese. Attendees can enjoy an array of delights, including ramen, onigiri, shaved ice, matcha, and bubble tea. Japan Fes will take place on three separate dates and locations in September: on the Upper East Side on September 6, in Chelsea on September 13, and in Bushwick on September 14, all from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Next up is the Feast of San Gennaro, an 11-day celebration honoring the patron saint of Naples and celebrating Italian heritage. This iconic festival has grown from a one-day block party to a world-famous event spanning 11 blocks filled with Italian food, music, and cherished traditions. The Feast will take place from September 11 to September 21 on Mulberry Street between Canal Street and Houston Street.

For beer lovers, Oktober Fest brings the spirit of Germany to Manhattan with authentic beers, oversized steins, brats, and giant pretzels. This lively festival will be hosted at Watermark Waterfront Bar, Pier 15, from September 12 through October 26.

The Latin Food Festival at Industry City on September 13-14 invites attendees to celebrate the end of summer with food trucks, grill stations, bars, live music, and even unique contests, including a Bad Bunny lookalike contest and a chancla-throwing contest!

Another highlight is the Queens Night Market, a family-friendly open-air night market featuring over 100 independent vendors selling merchandise, art, and food, along with live music. This event will take place at the New York Hall of Science from September 13 to October 25, every Saturday from 4 p.m. to midnight.

Finally, the New York City Wine & Food Festival returns this October, featuring more than 50 events across the Seaport district. Attendees can partake in tastings, brunches, master classes, and parties with over 300 top chefs, mixologists, and winemakers. This festival, running from October 15 to October 19, not only celebrates culinary talent but also raises millions for charitable causes.
