Celebrity News: Erykah Badu and Alchemist’s Anticipated Album ‘Abi & Alan’ Delayed!

Fans eagerly awaiting the release of Erykah Badu and Alchemist’s collaborative album, Abi & Alan, were met with disappointment as the project failed to drop on its scheduled release date of August 29. Badu took to Instagram to share the unfortunate news with her followers, humorously attributing the delay to The Alchemist. “Don’t worry tho…no Aug. 29,” she captioned a video of herself in bed. “It’s @alanthechemist fault 😀”

Originally announced back in March, this album marks Badu’s first studio release since her acclaimed 2010 project, New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh), and her first major release since the 2015 mixtape But You Caint Use My Phone. Fans were treated to a taste of what’s to come with the album’s first single, “Next to You,” where the legendary producer reimagines his classic track, Mobb Deep’s “The Realest.”

Badu had previously hinted at the album during an interview on The Breakfast Club, stating, “I mean, I’m writing right now. I got a project coming out soon.” When pressed about a specific release date, she kept it characteristically vague, saying, “We’ll see… It’s an important one. It’s a collab album.”

Meanwhile, The Alchemist remains busy in the studio and on the road. He recently released Alfredo 2 with Freddie Gibbs and is gearing up for a tour with DJ Premier. Expressing his excitement, Alchemist shared, “Man…If you know me, you know how much of a big deal this is for me. @djpremier is the greatest of all time and the reason I became what I am today.” He emphasized the significance of their collaboration, stating, “HISTORY WILL BE MADE! Don’t miss this one.”

As fans await further updates on Abi & Alan, it’s clear that both Erykah Badu and The Alchemist are poised to deliver something special when the time comes. For all the latest news and updates, be sure to check out hiphopraisedmetheblog.com and stay connected! 🎶✨
