Local News: Multiple People Shot in Wakefield, Bronx; Investigation Underway

A shooting incident in the Wakefield neighborhood of the Bronx has left three individuals hospitalized, prompting an active investigation by the NYPD. Officers responded to reports of multiple shots fired at approximately noon on Sunday, arriving at the scene located at 633 East 230th Street.

According to police reports, two women and a man were struck by gunfire during the incident. The male victim, aged 27, sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently reported to be in stable condition. One of the female victims, an 18-year-old, was shot in the foot and also taken to the hospital, where she remains in stable condition. The second woman, aged 21, suffered a graze wound to her foot and was similarly hospitalized in stable condition.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The NYPD is encouraging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
