Celebrity News: Trump Claims Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Requested a Pardon Following Prison Sentencing

In a surprising turn of events,  President Donald Trump revealed on Monday that Sean “Diddy” Combs has reached out to him for a pardon following his recent conviction on two prostitution-related charges. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump stated, “A lot of people have asked me for pardons. I call him Puff Daddy; he has asked me for a pardon.”

Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison last Friday, which includes credit for the 12 months he has already served at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest in September 2024. In addition to his prison sentence, the music mogul was fined $500,000.

While a representative for Combs declined to comment on Trump’s statements, his legal team is reportedly considering an appeal. They argue that the judge imposed an excessively harsh sentence, four times longer than what they had requested, based on unproven allegations that were not part of the conviction. Lead attorney Teny Geragos emphasized, “The jury made it very clear in their verdict that they acquitted him of the sex trafficking and the RICO counts. Not guilty means not guilty.”

In light of his conviction, Combs has requested to serve his sentence at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey, which offers a drug treatment program known as the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP). His legal team argues that this placement would better address his drug abuse issues while maximizing family visitation and rehabilitation opportunities.

Trump’s comments about Combs’ pardon request came during a discussion of potential clemency for other individuals, including Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a prison sentence for her involvement in a high-profile sex trafficking case.

As the situation unfolds, the entertainment world watches closely, awaiting further developments in Combs’ legal battles and the potential implications of Trump’s pardon power.
