In a significant development, Mexican authorities have arrested 16 individuals linked to the brutal murder of two Colombian artists, rapper B. King (Byron Sanchez Salazar) and DJ Regio Clown (Jorge Herrera Lemus). The bodies of the two musicians were discovered on September 17 along a highway near Mexico City, with autopsy reports revealing they bled to death from multiple stab wounds.
The two artists were last seen leaving a gym and getting into a vehicle the day after a performance, with their destination remaining unknown. The investigation took a turn when the State of Mexico Attorney General’s Office identified the vehicle involved—a silver Mercedes Benz—and located it in a building on September 24 during a rescue operation for a kidnapping victim.
Authorities traced the vehicle to Jaime N., also known as “Puga,” a reputed member of the organized crime group Union de Tepito. His arrest, along with four others, provided crucial information linking the murder to a larger criminal network involved in usurious loan operations and the distribution of designer drugs, including “tusi” (pink cocaine) and “coco channel” (a mix of cocaine and methamphetamine).
Witnesses indicated that the distribution of these narcotics was taking place at the artists’ performances. The Attorney General’s statement noted that the murder was related to drug commercialization and a debt one of the artists had with a criminal organization, as well as a personal connection to a man identified as “El Pantera” (The Panther). Although El Pantera is not among those arrested, his alleged associate, Christopher N., known as “El Comandante” (The Commander), has been detained.
The investigation has drawn attention from both the Mexican and Colombian governments, who have been in communication since the bodies were discovered. B. King had recently arrived in Mexico for performances, while DJ Regio Clown had been in the country for a longer period.
