The hip-hop world is in mourning after the tragic death of Brooklyn rapper “Get Lo,” who was shot and killed in Manhattan following a concert featuring YSL Gunna. The incident occurred early Sunday morning, leaving fans and fellow artists in disbelief.
Get Lo, whose real name was Gibson Winters, was 39 years old and had been working hard to establish his rap career while being a devoted father to his young daughters. Tragically, he was shot multiple times in the back and groin near West 46th Street and 12th Avenue around 4:10 a.m. outside the Harbor NYC Club. Despite the efforts of medics who rushed him to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
Details surrounding the shooting indicate that it may have stemmed from an altercation involving a female. Eyewitnesses reported that Winters intervened in a dispute, stepping in to defend someone who was being attacked, which ultimately led to his untimely demise.
