In a surprising turn of events, Funk Flex took to the airwaves at Hot 97 to make some bold claims about Kimora Lee Simmons following the debut of her new reality series, Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane. During his Monday morning segment, Flex didn’t hold back, referring to Simmons as a “bird” and insinuating that rapper DaBaby had a romantic involvement with her.
In a clip shared on TikTok by user @suzyfrmbk, Flex stated, “She’s a bird, continue the story! What’s her name? Russell’s old wife, right? And DaBaby was beating that! Finish the story!” His comments come just days after Simmons’ ex-husband, Russell Simmons, made headlines by alleging that he has financially supported the Baby Phat founder for the past two decades.
Russell, who has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct, also accused Kimora of taking his stock and limiting his relationship with their daughters, Ming, 25, and Aoki, 23. In a post on Threads, he expressed, “I have been fighting for my kids’ love and bread ever since. You threatened that if I sued you, I would never speak to my kids again. There are two sides to every story.”
These remarks were made in response to an interview where Kimora discussed her struggles with co-parenting and her relationships with the fathers of her children. She has a 16-year-old son, Kenzo, with actor Djimon Hounsou, a 10-year-old son, Wolfe, with ex-husband Tim Leissner, and an adopted son, Jaden, 19. In the interview, she mentioned, “Usually I would say that I co-parent okay, but the kids are with me full-time. I’m pretty much the primary parent. It’s difficult, but I don’t know sometimes what other people are thinking. Guys are weird.”
As of now, neither Kimora nor DaBaby has publicly responded to Funk Flex’s incendiary remarks.
