Celebrity Arrests: Rapper Baby Smoove Arrested in Miami on Drug and Weapon Charges

Detroit rapper Baby Smoove, whose real name is Jaelin Deanta Parker, was arrested in Miami this week on multiple felony charges related to drugs and firearms but was quickly released after posting bail. The incident occurred late Wednesday night when Smoove was pulled over while driving a heavily tinted yellow Lamborghini.

According to police reports, an officer from the Miami Police Department noticed the strong odor of marijuana and a visible cloud of smoke upon approaching the vehicle. When the officer searched the car, they discovered a black handgun under the driver’s seat, prompting the arrest of Smoove and his two passengers due to their lack of legal permit to possess firearms.

Following the arrest, authorities conducted a thorough search of the vehicle, uncovering significant quantities of illegal substances and cash. They found a Taurus PT809 handgun loaded with 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition and one round in the chamber, alongside a yellow pill bottle in a hidden compartment containing suspected oxycodone, Xanax, and tizanidine hydrochloride, a muscle relaxant. Additionally, police reported finding 81.9 grams of suspected marijuana, 12 canisters of suspected THC wax, a bottle of promethazine, and $30,000 in cash in a yellow backpack that Smoove claimed as his own.

As a result of the incident, Baby Smoove faces seven felony charges, including possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell while armed, possession of marijuana with intent to sell while armed, intent to manufacture or sell prescription drugs, and carrying a concealed firearm.

After fulfilling a $1,000 surety bond, Smoove was released from custody on Friday. As of now, attempts to reach him for comment have been unsuccessful.
