Celebrity News: Nas Reveals Eminem Shot Down His Feature Request For “Daughters”

In a recent interview with Joe Budden, hip-hop legend Nas opened up about his experience trying to collaborate with Eminem on the track “Daughters.” The revelation comes shortly after the release of Nas’ new album, Light-Years, in collaboration with DJ Premier.

Nas recounted how he had sent Eminem the song with hopes of a feature, only to receive a gracious yet firm response. Eminem explained that he had already addressed the topic of fatherhood extensively in his own work, particularly in relation to his daughter, Hailie. “Thank you, but I told my daughter I’m not doing any more songs directly about daughters at the moment because that’s a sensitive issue with all the music I put out,” Eminem conveyed to Nas.

Despite the missed opportunity for collaboration, Nas appreciated the sentiment behind Eminem’s response. He said, “It was refreshing to get a record where you’re not coming for me,” highlighting the mutual respect between the two artists.

“Daughters” originally appeared on Nas’ tenth studio album, Life is Good, released in 2012. The track explores themes of fatherhood and personal growth, with Nas reflecting on his own experiences raising his daughter, Destiny.

In other news, the conversation with Budden followed the recent release of Light-Years, which features a guest appearance by AZ on the track “My Story Your Story” and includes a continuation of Nas’ iconic piece, “N.Y. State of Mind.” This album also marks the conclusion of Nas’ critically acclaimed Legend Has It… series for Mass Appeal Records, which spotlighted various legendary hip-hop artists over the past year.

As Nas continues to innovate and collaborate within the hip-hop landscape, fans eagerly await what he will bring to the table next. Stay tuned for more updates on celebrity news at hiphopraisedmetheblog.com.
