Political News: JD Vance Channels Nicki Minaj to Assert Americans “Don’t Have to Apologize for Being White”

At the recent AmericaFest hosted by Turning Point USA, U.S. Vice President JD Vance expressed his admiration for Nicki Minaj while addressing the audience. Minaj, who shared the stage with Erika Kirk, tackled a range of political issues during the event. Vance seized the opportunity to echo her sentiments, particularly in his critique of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, asserting that Americans “don’t have to apologize for being white anymore.”

Vance remarked, “Unlike the left, we stand against treating anybody differently, and I love what Nicki said about this. We have relegated DEI to the dustbin of history, which is exactly where it belongs. In the United States of America, you don’t have to apologize for being white anymore.”

During her discussion, Minaj emphasized the importance of self-love across all demographics. She stated, “I don’t need someone with blonde hair and blue eyes to downplay their beauty because I know my beauty. It doesn’t bother me that a woman feels and says that she’s beautiful. Why shouldn’t she feel that? Why have we gotten to a point where certain colors or certain kinds of people have to be afraid of loving themselves and loving the way they look? I don’t want what was done to little black girls done to little white girls, I don’t want it done to any girl. I want all little girls in the world to know that you are unique. You are beautiful.”

Minaj’s appearance at AmericaFest might have surprised some, but she has openly supported Donald Trump in recent months. On stage, she remarked that the President has provided hope to many people, indicating a belief that it’s possible to overcome adversity and succeed while maintaining dignity.

In a follow-up post on X (formerly Twitter), Vance elaborated on Minaj’s impactful message, stating, “Nicki Minaj said something at Amfest that was really profound. I’m paraphrasing, but she said, ‘just because I want little black girls to think they’re beautiful doesn’t mean I need to put down little girls with blonde hair and blue eyes.’ We all got wrapped up over the last few years in zero-sum thinking. This was because the people who think they rule the world pit us against one another. @NICKIMINAJ rejects that. We all should.”
