Celebrity Legal: Big U Accuses Jail Officials of Endangering His Life by Taking His Breathing Machine

Eugene “Big U” Henley has made serious allegations against jail officials, claiming that their confiscation of his CPAP breathing machine has severely impacted his health. In a letter addressed to U.S. District Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha, Big U detailed his deteriorating condition and accused the authorities of obstructing his legal defense by withholding crucial documents.

In his letter, Big U expressed the gravity of his situation, stating, “Put frankly, death can occur for those who require breathing machines when they sleep if they do not have one. Therefore, since being in the SHU without it, I simply cannot allow myself to fall asleep whatsoever.” He also mentioned that he has not received accommodations for his back and shoulder injuries, as well as his eyeglasses, further compounding his discomfort.

Additionally, Big U accused jail staff of taking a USB drive containing important legal materials, including discovery documents. He noted that when he inquired about the drive, the staff either did not acknowledge its existence or failed to provide any information. “Approximately twenty-five pieces of legal correspondence were extremely delayed or never reached me at all,” he wrote, highlighting the challenges he faces in mounting an effective defense.

The situation is even more heartbreaking given the recent loss of Big U’s son, Jabari “Baby Uiie” Henley, who was tragically shot and killed in Los Angeles last October. After his son’s death, Big U sought temporary release from jail to attend the funeral, but despite receiving court permission, he claims jail officials prevented him from participating. “Losing my child while I am in custody has been among the most challenging experiences of my life,” he lamented. “I was not allowed private viewing, even though there was a court order for this. Of course, I will never have that opportunity again.”

Big U’s trial is set to begin on May 5, 2026. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him and continues to assert his innocence.

As this situation develops, it raises significant concerns about the treatment of incarcerated individuals and their access to necessary medical care and legal resources. For further updates on Big U and other celebrity legal matters, stay tuned to hiphopraisedmetheblog.com.
