Rapper DigDat, whose real name is Nathan Tokosi, has been sentenced to life imprisonment following his conviction for a drive-by shooting in Notting Hill, west London. The incident occurred on November 20, 2023, when Tokosi shot 27-year-old Daniel Offei-Ntow six times in the head, mouth, and body while the victim was seated in his car.
Tokosi, known for his hit single “Air Force,” which peaked at number 20 on the UK singles chart in 2018, now faces a minimum term of 24 years in prison after being found guilty of attempted murder and firearms offenses in two separate trials last year.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Tokosi was in a stolen Audi that approached Mr. Offei-Ntow’s Mitsubishi Outlander, from which multiple shots were fired. Prosecutor Kate Bex KC described the brutal attack, stating that Mr. Offei-Ntow was “lucky not to die,” as emergency responders arrived to find his vehicle riddled with bullet holes and blood-stained interiors. Despite his severe injuries, Mr. Offei-Ntow managed to return to his apartment, where police later discovered him in shock and critically wounded.

Investigators found a latex glove and a bag containing a firearm and ammunition near the scene of the shooting, further linking Tokosi to the crime. Evidence presented at trial indicated that he had borrowed a BMW to make multiple trips from his father’s home in Deptford to Notting Hill, raising suspicions about his actions leading up to the shooting.
DNA evidence found in the Audi confirmed Tokosi’s presence in the vehicle used during the attack. Additionally, he has a troubling history of violence, with eight previous convictions for 13 offenses, including a stabbing incident at age 13 that resulted in a conviction for attempted murder.
In his defense, Tokosi’s attorney characterized him as a “laidback” individual who became overwhelmed by the chaotic lifestyle that accompanied his rapid rise in the music industry. The defense also noted that Tokosi had struggled with ADHD, which contributed to his behavioral issues.
During sentencing, Judge Sarah Munro KC labeled Tokosi a dangerous offender, emphasizing the senseless nature of the attack. Helen Shaw from the Crown Prosecution Service expressed hope that the lengthy sentence would provide some sense of closure to Mr. Offei-Ntow’s family.
As DigDat begins his prison term, this case serves as a stark reminder of the serious legal consequences associated with violent behavior. For ongoing updates on celebrity legal matters and developments in the hip-hop community, continue to follow hiphopraisedmetheblog.com.
