In a candid revelation, R&B singer Ray J has shared a sobering update about his health, stating he has been informed he may have only a limited time left to live after a recent hospitalization for pneumonia. The artist, known for his hit “Sexy Can I,” expressed his gratitude for the support he’s received while also acknowledging the seriousness of his condition.
Ray J was admitted to a Las Vegas hospital earlier this month on January 6, where he was treated for pneumonia and heart-related issues. In a heartfelt Instagram post on January 25, he shared that he “almost died” but managed to pull through, thanks to the prayers and encouragement from fans and family. “My heart’s only beating, like, 25 percent,” he revealed, but remained hopeful, stating, “as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be alright.”

Despite his optimism, Ray J was candid about his ongoing health struggles, admitting that he is still not in a good place. He expressed his gratitude to his family, including his mother, sister Brandy, and father, for their unwavering support during this challenging time.
In a separate livestream that circulated on social media, Ray J disclosed that his medical team informed him he has only a few months left to live. “2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” he stated, prompting disbelief from friends who were present. “That’s what the doctor said!” he reiterated, emphasizing the gravity of his situation.
Ray J went on to discuss the toll his past lifestyle has taken on his health. He candidly admitted to having “f—ed my heart up” due to excessive alcohol and drug use, stating, “I thought I could handle all the alcohol. I could handle all the Adderall. I could handle all the drugs, but I couldn’t.” He reflected on his past habits, recalling times when he would consume “four or five bottles a day” alongside “10 Addies” at once, only to realize the consequences were much more severe than he anticipated.

In a more reflective moment, Ray J noted that regardless of how much time he has left, he has ensured that his estranged ex-wife, Princess Love, and their two children will be taken care of after his passing. “My baby mama gon’ be straight, my kids gon’ be straight,” he confirmed. However, he also expressed regret, admitting, “I shouldn’t have went this hard.”
As his health remains critical, Ray J is scheduled for another doctor’s appointment soon. He expressed appreciation for his family’s support, particularly his sister Brandy, who has been helping him financially during this tough period.
This isn’t the first instance of Ray J facing health issues related to pneumonia; he previously sought treatment for the same condition during the COVID-19 pandemic in October 2021.
