In a significant development, California rapper Marcus Fantroy, professionally known as Geechi Gotti, has been arrested alongside three others following a traffic stop in West Chester Township, Ohio, that uncovered nearly 3,000 stolen opioid pills. The incident occurred on February 5, when local police stopped a vehicle driven by Fantroy on I-75.
The situation escalated quickly as the suspects attempted to flee the scene, but law enforcement was able to apprehend them near the Streets of West Chester. Upon arrest, officers discovered a substantial quantity of pharmaceuticals in the vehicle, which Detective Kevin Burger of the West Chester Police Department noted appeared to have been stolen directly from a pharmacy.
The seized drugs included oxycodone, morphine, and Vicodin, all of which authorities believe were taken from a pharmacy called the Medicine Shoppe in Bellevue, Ohio. Additionally, cash believed to have been stolen from a pharmacy in Perrysburg, Ohio, was found in the vehicle.
Authorities had been monitoring the group since one of the men had arrived at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport the previous week. Alongside Fantroy, the other suspects—Tyrus Crew, Anthony Ellison, and Lequan Miller—are now facing charges related to drug possession.
Detective Burger emphasized the scale of the operation, estimating the value of the seized pharmaceuticals to be over $10,000 to $15,000, although their street value could be significantly higher. He further stated in court that these men “do this quite often,” indicating a pattern of criminal behavior.
Judge Courtney Caparella-Kraemer reviewed the evidence presented and found sufficient grounds to bind the case over to a grand jury for further proceedings.
