Celebrity Lawsuits: J. Cole Responds to Cam’ron’s $500K Lawsuit Over “Ready ’24” Collaboration

In a recent turn of events, J. Cole has formally addressed the $500,000 lawsuit filed by Cam’ron concerning their collaboration on the track “Ready ’24.” Cam’ron’s lawsuit, which was lodged in October 2025, alleges that Cole failed to fulfill his commitment to provide a guest verse or participate in an interview following Cam’s contribution to Cole’s track “Might Delete Later.”

Cam’ron, also known as Killa Cam, claims he was not adequately credited or compensated for his involvement in the hit track that made waves on the Billboard Hot 100. He is now seeking a portion of the profits, estimating his share to be at least $500,000.

However, J. Cole has firmly denied the allegations through a response filed on February 10. His legal team asserts that there was never a binding agreement regarding a future collaboration. Instead, they maintain that Cam’ron’s appearance on “Ready ’24” was entirely voluntary and without any prior conditions. Christine Lepera, Cole’s attorney, stated in the court documents that Cam’ron had actually endorsed the use of his performance for the benefit of his own career.

Lepera did not hold back in her criticism of Cam’ron, accusing him of publicly disparaging the Dreamville artist and claiming that the demands made by Cam were unreasonable and inconsistent with standard industry practices for featured performances. She noted that Cam’ron’s grievances arose only after the release of “Ready ’24,” suggesting that his lawsuit was a tactic to gain leverage.

In a recent episode of his YouTube show, “Talk With Flee,” Cam’ron shared his frustrations regarding the lawsuit and revealed that Cole had previously postponed their collaboration, citing a need for the “chakra” to be right before he could write. Cam’ron humorously recounted Cole’s response, saying, “The moon gotta align with the stars. When I write I put my all into it,” to which he responded, “Okay, well put your all into it!”

Moreover, Cam’ron expressed his disappointment, especially since he had completed his verse for “Ready ’24” in just 20 minutes, and had been seeking an interview with Cole to promote an upcoming album. The two had reportedly discussed various scheduling conflicts, with Cole continually delaying their conversation due to his reluctance to discuss his high-profile rap battle with Kendrick Lamar.

As the situation unfolds, neither Cam’ron nor his legal representatives have yet provided a public response to J. Cole’s counterarguments.
