In a heartfelt interview, Napoleon of The Outlawz has addressed the tragic suicide of his friend and fellow member, Young Noble. Reflecting on their last dispute, which stemmed from a seemingly trivial Jim Belushi sandwich story, Napoleon shared insights into the mental health struggles that ultimately led to Noble’s untimely passing.
During his conversation with The Art of Dialogue, Napoleon expressed disbelief over the loss, stating, “Me personally, I still can’t believe it, man.” He recounted how their public disagreements began over a lighthearted memory involving Jim Belushi, who had bitten Noble’s burger on the set of the film “Gang Related.” What was intended as a humorous story took a turn when Young Noble felt offended, leading to a rift between the two.
Napoleon explained, “I think Noble might have got offended the way I told the story. Like he felt like I was saying Jim Belushi punked him.” Despite their differences, Napoleon sensed that something deeper was affecting his friend’s behavior. “This ain’t really him. Something must be up,” he realized.
Young Noble tragically took his own life on July 4, 2025, at the age of 47. His passing was confirmed by Outlawz member E.D.I. Mean, who expressed deep sorrow over losing a brother and partner of over 30 years. Napoleon revealed that Young Noble had been grappling with serious health issues and medication that impacted his mental state. “Whatever he was doing, that medication that was making him trip out, he was taking everything, you know, small incidents and it was just blowing up,” Napoleon shared.
In the wake of this tragedy, Napoleon expressed regret over not having reconciled with Noble before his death. “I really thought that I was going to be able to speak to him and be like I’mma let everything calm down,” he said. The shock of his friend’s death has led Napoleon to emphasize the critical importance of resolving conflicts swiftly. “You don’t know how much time we got left on earth,” he noted, reflecting on the futility of petty arguments.
As The Outlawz continues to navigate the loss of members, including the legendary Tupac Shakur and others, this poignant reminder serves as a call for compassion and understanding in relationships. Napoleon’s reflections highlight the need to cherish every moment and resolve conflicts before it’s too late.
