T.I. has made headlines once again with his latest hit “LET EM KNOW,” which recently re-entered the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. During a candid interview with Billboard on March 4, the self-proclaimed “Kang of the South” reflected on the song’s impressive performance and his long journey in the music industry.
“It’s surreal, in a way,” T.I. shared. “It’s humbling to see that relevance still exists within this art that I’ve been able to present to the world after such a long journey. I truly appreciate the fans for embracing it.”
“LET EM KNOW,” which has reached No. 38 on the Hot 100, marks T.I.’s 58th entry on the chart and is set to feature on his final album, Kill The King. Produced by Pharrell Williams, the track showcases T.I.’s signature bravado and sharp delivery, while Pharrell’s nostalgic production transports listeners back to the mid-2000s. T.I. spoke highly of his collaboration with Pharrell, noting, “We both have an unwavering passion for the craft. He has accomplished so much but still feels the urge to create music out of genuine passion.”
In addition to discussing his new music, T.I. addressed his ongoing feud with fellow rapper 50 Cent. This rivalry has gained considerable media attention, particularly after 50 Cent shared photos of T.I.’s wife, Tiny, on social media. In response, T.I. and his children, Domani and King, released diss tracks. While 50 Cent has not responded in kind, T.I. expressed his preference for addressing conflicts through music rather than online disputes.
“Ultimately, I took to the booth because it was the most mature, level-headed, and organized way to express my feelings,” T.I. explained.
During the interview, T.I. also touched on the status of ATL 2, his upcoming film, as well as additional features on Kill The King.
