Reflecting on the past month, Cole shared insights from his Trunk Sale Tour, where he traveled across cities in his trusty Honda Civic, connecting with fans along the way. “This post is just me checking in and saying thank you for all the love on the album,” he wrote. “From the YouTube videos I see to the TikTok and Instagram posts, it’s the best feeling when I see people resonate with the music.”
As for his favorite tracks, Cole highlighted “The Let Out,” a club anthem inspired by OutKast’s “SpottieOttieDopaliscious.” He noted that it’s one of his most adventurous songs to date. Additionally, he mentioned “Poor Thang” and “I Love Her Again,” the latter paying homage to classics like Common’s “I Used To Love H.E.R.” and “The Light.”
Looking to the future, J. Cole plans to embark on a press run to promote The Fall-Off, a shift from his typically reserved media presence. “My intention was to drop the album and let it sit for at least a month before I did any interviews,” he explained. “I wanted listeners to form their own thoughts and interpretations before I shared mine.” Now, he feels it’s the right time to engage with various platforms, big and small, to further discuss the album.
Excitement is also building for J. Cole’s upcoming The Fall-Off Tour, which will span an impressive 73 dates across four continents from July 10 to December 12. He expressed both excitement and trepidation about the extensive tour, especially after feeling exhausted from the last leg of his Trunk Sale Tour. “We haven’t done an international tour since 4 Your Eyez Only,” Cole noted. “For this album, it’s a must that I thug it out and hit the world up.”
