Kicking off on May 28, 2026, this free outdoor performing arts festival will bring a diverse array of entertainment right to the heart of Midtown. Highlights include a showcase of American opera by the New York City Opera, a special concert celebrating America’s birthday in collaboration with Carnegie Hall, and the inaugural Brass and Choir Festivals.
The festival features a total of 24 performances encompassing an eclectic mix of music, dance, opera, and circus arts, culminating in a poignant tribute concert on September 11. With attendance exceeding 87,000 people and 440,000 livestream views in previous seasons, Picnic Performances has become a cherished summer tradition in New York City.
