In a concerning update, former unified women’s super middleweight champion Shadasia Green remains in the Intensive Care Unit following her knockout defeat to Lani Daniels during the co-main event of MVPW-02 at Madison Square Garden. The fight, which took place on Friday, ended in the ninth round when Daniels delivered a series of powerful right hands that left Green unable to respond, prompting the referee to halt the match.
Immediately after the fight, Green was placed on a stool and subsequently transported out of the arena on a stretcher. Mike Leonard, head of boxing for Most Valuable Promotions, shared that Green was “awake and talkative” during the post-fight press conference, providing a glimmer of hope amid the situation.
However, Green took to social media on Sunday to share a more detailed update about her condition, revealing that she had suffered a brain bleed during the bout. In her Instagram post, she expressed immense gratitude for the support she received and recognized those who noticed something was amiss during the fight.
“With everything in me I wanna thank those who had great concern and even the people who figured out during the fight something was wrong,” Green wrote. “I passed out due to bleeding out of my brain. However, I am in ICU on the road to healing. I’ll be back to get what’s mine 100% covered.”
As fans and fellow athletes rally around her for a speedy recovery, the boxing community remains hopeful for Green’s return to the ring. Stay tuned for more developments on Shadasia Green’s journey and other sports news from hiphopraisedmetheblog.com.
