Authorities have announced the dismantling of a drug delivery service operating out of the Bronx, with four men now facing serious charges. Prosecutors revealed that approximately 10 kilograms (or 22 pounds) of cocaine, valued at around $250,000, were seized during coordinated searches of an apartment and three vehicles on Sunday.
Ermes Jimenez is identified as the primary suspect responsible for supplying cocaine to a network of delivery drivers, operating out of a luxury apartment located at 5 Lincoln Avenue. Investigators allege that Jimenez routinely transported bags of cocaine from his apartment to vehicles that arrived at the building’s driveway on a weekly basis. These drugs were then distributed to various locations across Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn.
“This investigation successfully put the brakes on a drug delivery service that used a luxury apartment building in the Bronx as a drive-thru for cocaine pickups,” said Bridget G. Brennan, NYC Special Narcotics Prosecutor. “The narcotics organization capitalized on the waterfront location with easy access to Manhattan and major highways.”
On Sunday, Jimenez and delivery driver Eddy Ruiz-de La Rosa were apprehended near the suspect’s apartment around 12:15 a.m. Following their arrest, investigators executed a search warrant at Jimenez’s apartment at 6 a.m., uncovering over 1,000 vials of cocaine, a firearm, loaded magazines, boxes of ammunition, a bulletproof vest, and approximately $200,000 in cash.
In addition to Ruiz-de La Rosa, two other delivery drivers, Jonathan Rivera and Jordan Machuca, were also taken into custody. Searches of all vehicles involved revealed additional cocaine, firearms, and thousands of dollars in cash.
All four suspects are facing drug possession charges, with Jimenez and Rivera also charged with gun possession. The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and maintain public safety in the Bronx and surrounding areas.
