Quando Rondo has made it known he’s not someone to play with after a YouTube prankster tried to tell him his jewelry was comprised of fake diamonds.
The YouTuber, who goes by DayBoyQ, ran into the 3860 rapper at the Oglethorpe Mall in his hometown of Savannah, Georgia, and asked him to test his jewelry with a diamond tester. Quando agreed to the test, but when the tester showed his diamonds to be fake, Quando began to grow increasingly frustrated
Man, lil’ bruh, quit playing with me, man,” Rondo said. As his agitation grew, he ended up taking DayBoyQ and his entourage to Crescent Jewelers and demanded the tester be used on some diamonds at the shop.
“Where your diamond tester at? They trolling me with they little fake diamond tester. I don’t know what they got going on,” Rondo said to his jeweler. “I ain’t gon’ lie, I don’t even know y’all boys. Y’all got that fake-ass diamond tester and shit. Lil’ bruh, y’all playing, n-ggas gets murked like that. And get laughed at, ‘Ah ha, he dead.’”
The shop’s taster was then used on Rondo’s jewelry, which proved his diamonds were real.
Rondo is just the latest rapper to be falsely accused of buying fake jewelry. In 2021, Soulja Boy admonished an Instagram user who accused him of a similar blasphemous act, but Big Soulja ended up having the video deleted.
“SOULJA BOY REPORTED IT AND HAD IT DELETED CAUSE HE KNOW THE TRUTH @theshaderoom,” Soulja wrote on IG.
Rondo’s latest awkward interaction comes shortly after Quando had another uncomfortable moment with police during a recent traffic stop.
“C’mon mane! C’mon mane! Every fucking time, mane,” the rapper said to the police officers, who cracked up with laughter. “They got me pulled over again mane… God damn, mane! Every fucking time, mane.”
Quando’s awkward run-ins with YouTubers and the law is the latest bit of negative press to follow the “ABG” rapper. In September, the Georgia native attempted to renounce his gang ties following the devastating death of his friend Lul Pab over the summer, but he was immediately clowned online for trying to lay down his flag.
“It’s time for me to spend time to myself and free myself from a lot of people,” Quando wrote on his Instagram Story at the time. “My Main Manz Gone & a lot more shit I’m cool on alot of shit if I feel like you not with me it’s no reason for me To be holding on to you no need to shake your hand or fake some with you ! I’m Living Life How I wanna live life whatever I wanna do ima do it you gone either gone get with it or get lost.”
He continued: “I’m my own man I layed my flag down I’m not NH yall ain’t gone ride for a n-gga foreal it’s no sense being apart of yall shit y’all fw the opposition. Idgaf who feel hit Fucc u and if you can’t feel where I’m coming from on this you a bitch ass n-gga cuz it don’t take rocket science to c what the fuck going on errbody all ready hate me.”
His lengthy post prompted replies from his peers including the Florida rapper Julio Foolio. “Dawg homeboy died in cali he trynna squash beef and throw his flag in it’s to late for that nephew,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.
Quando Rondo replied, and said no one is in a place to call out his decision. “Before you go to talking about another n-gga sit bacc and think like I don’t even got 200 bandz cuz you need way more than that to stand with me! Y’all n-ggas still think 20k is up,” he wrote on his IG Story. “I can careless what somebody think get in my way and ima knocc you down simple NO CAP.”
