On Saturday (September 2), a Snapchat user posted clips of Drizzy and Lil Boat working on a visual supplement for a track. The footage, which was recorded from behind trees and bushes at night, caught the lyrics: “I ain’t pretty Flacko, bitch, this shit get really Rocky.”
The fan seemed to have chanced upon the shoot as he captioned the clips: “Ever seen drake filming music video unreleased music in ridge with yachty?”
Drake also recently hinted on his Instagram Story that he’s working with Cole Bennett, though it is unclear if it is for his upcoming album, For All the Dogs. In comparing the fan footage with the Toronto native’s post, it seems like Drizzy’s photo was from the same night. Furthermore, the director himself tweeted on Sunday (September 3): “[owl emoji, lime emoji] . . coming sooooon.”
Though the aforementioned bars aren’t exactly a Rocky diss, it is worth mentioning that Flacko recently took shots at an unnamed rapper, leaving some fans to think that he was talking about Drake.
In late July, the “Praise the Lord” spitter debuted new music from his upcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb, at Rolling Loud Miami. While performing a song called “Taylor Swift,” he took aim at an unnamed rival that hears him brag about stealing their “bitch” as payback for biting his style.
First you stole my flow, so I stole your bitch/ Then you stole my style, I need at least like 10 percent/ All due disrespect, I hope you take offense,” he rapped on the unreleased track.
While Travis Scott‘s name came up a possible target, many were convinced that Rocky was in fact dissing Drake, who has made no secret of his crush on Rihanna in the past.
“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old,” he admitted while presenting her with the Video Vanguard Award at the 2016 MTV VMAs.
When Rihanna announced she was pregnant with her and A$AP Rocky’s first child last year, Drizzy didn’t appear to take the news well as he unfollowed both artists on Instagram.
