Wale and Azealia Banks have reignited their long-standing feud with a fiery back-and-forth on social media. The drama kicked off on April 2, 2025, when Wale posted on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “I’m not sellin my soul. I’m not playin them other games either… ain’t no ‘era’ I ain’t never stopped… hope this helps wit the nostalgia bait.”
However, Banks quickly responded, launching a scathing critique of Wale’s career. “N-gga the only hot song you ever made is ‘ridin in that black joint,’” she tweeted. “But ur rap swag and delivery and persona got something off in a very generic type of way. It’s highkey cause u African no shade. U shoulda been African T-pain.”
Wale dismissed her comments with humor, promoting a festival where he and T-Pain are scheduled to perform. He quipped, “Ngl … the chicken butcher lady sayin my only hit is off a video game I never played before is funny af… I don’t even think that song is on dsp. We Stan.”
Not one to back down, Banks escalated the exchange, countering with, “Says the guy with a period panty fetish…. I didn’t say it was your only hit; I honestly wouldn’t know what hits you have because you’ve never developed any sort of musical identity that was distinct enough for me to recognize.”
Wale replied, pointing out Banks’ tendency to give unsolicited advice: “My favorite thing on this app is you tellin everybody what they should be doing… life is hard af and yet you find time to tell everybody everywhere all the time how to do things … you are way too kind to us.”
The back-and-forth intensified, with Banks accusing Wale of having a low impact in music due to his desire to please “corny white ‘producers.’” She added, “I will always talk to you and about you like the tampon chewing dog you are. Listen, I know you’re a little cunty drama school f-g but you’re 40 now.”
Wale then fired back, suggesting that Banks’ critique lacked substance. “The most disappointing thing about this exchange is that I’ve realized u don’t know ball… this take sounds like if chat gpt and pitchfork had a baby.”
Banks didn’t hold back in her response, accusing Wale of being a “flaming homosexual” and claiming that he sought to earn “street cred” through collaborations with white artists. She continued her tirade, asserting that she is the best A&R and mocking Wale’s attempts to position himself within the industry.
This latest exchange is just the continuation of a feud that dates back nearly a decade. The two previously clashed over Banks’ assertion that Black men had “sold out” Black women, with their disagreements escalating to personal insults.
As the drama unfolds, fans are left to speculate if this latest round of insults will lead to any further developments between the two artists. Stay tuned for updates on this ongoing saga and all the latest happenings in the music world!
