This summer, Virginia Beach is gearing up for an unforgettable free Oceanfront concert series that promises to bring a mix of legendary artists and fresh sounds to the stage. Kicking off on May 21, the series will feature a lineup that includes iconic hip-hop acts and renowned indie rock bands.
Among the highlights is DJ Jazzy Jeff, who will perform on May 28 at the 17th Street Park. As a pivotal figure in hip-hop, he rose to fame in the late ’80s and ’90s alongside Will Smith as part of the duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince. Fans can expect a nostalgic performance that will surely ignite the crowd.
Another standout is GZA from the legendary Wu-Tang Clan, who will take the stage on August 6 at the 24th Street Park, accompanied by his live band, the Phunky Nomads. The Wallflowers, led by Jakob Dylan, will also grace the stage on July 16, bringing their indie rock vibes to the oceanfront.
The series includes a total of 11 free shows, wrapping up on September 10 with rock band Say Anything and pop-punk group Madd Francis. Every concert will start at 7 p.m., offering locals and visitors alike a fantastic opportunity to enjoy live music under the stars.
