Epic Summer Lineup Unveiled: Free Concerts Set to Rock Prospect Park!

Get ready for a sensational summer as the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival announces an exciting lineup for its renowned music series, featuring a plethora of free concerts at the Prospect Park bandshell. Kicking off on June 9 with a star-studded benefit concert headlined by icons Grace Jones and Janelle Monáe, this festival promises to deliver unforgettable performances all summer long.

The free concert series launches on June 13, showcasing an impressive array of talent, including Haitian singer-songwriters Mélissa Laveaux, Nathalie “TALIE” Cerin, and Riva Nyri Précil. Throughout the summer, music lovers can look forward to a diverse mix of genres, from punk legends Gogol Bordello on August 2 to ’90s alt-rock favorites Dinosaur Jr. and Snail Mail on July 17.

Notably, the festival will celebrate Juneteenth on June 19 with funk group Ghost-Note and will honor hip-hop history with the Lyricist Lounge anniversary show on August 9, commemorating the influential underground rap series from the 1990s.

The festival also features a film tribute to legendary composer Quincy Jones, including screenings of the documentary “The Greatest Night in Pop” and the classic film “The Wiz.”
