Album Announcements: 21 Savage to Release “What Happened To The Streets”

21 Savage has officially announced the title of his upcoming studio album, “What Happened To The Streets.” Slated for release on Friday, December 12, this highly anticipated project has already stirred excitement among fans and collectors alike.

In a surprising twist, alternate versions of the album’s CDs are being listed for outrageous prices on eBay, with some going for as much as $1,000. Originally priced at just $9.98, the limited edition of only 2,100 copies represents an astonishing markup of 9920%, according to Kurrco.

Social media users have reacted with disbelief at the exorbitant prices. One user on X (formerly Twitter) remarked, “Anyone spending $1000 on a 21 Savage CD needs to be put on some sort of list.” Others criticized the trend, suggesting that “the music is so f*cking fake now,” pointing to a perceived manipulation of album sales by bots purchasing alternate album covers.

21 Savage shared a black-and-white trailer for the album on Instagram, though he has yet to confirm the tracklist or any guest features. However, potential collaborators such as Conway the Machine, G Herbo, DJ Khaled, and Zaytoven have expressed excitement in the comments section of the trailer. Apple Music lists 14 songs on the album, all of which have yet to be released as singles.

This album marks the first release since his previous work, “American Dream,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in January 2024, moving 133,000 total album-equivalent units.

Earlier this month, Savage also made headlines when a past interview resurfaced in which he discussed his views on rap beefs, stating, “I don’t really believe in rap beef… If you say certain sht about me in a song, I’mma slap the fck out you when I see you.”
