Blueface is facing a significant legal setback as a Los Angeles judge has ordered the seizure of his music royalties to satisfy a $125,000 defamation judgment. This ruling marks yet another challenge for the rapper, whose financial and legal troubles have been mounting.
The decision was handed down by Judge Peter Hernandez, who ruled that royalties collected from BMI and ASCAP must be assigned to Jackilyn Martinez, the mother of Soulja Boy’s child. Martinez won a nearly $125,000 default judgment against Blueface after he failed to respond to the lawsuit. The case stems from a social media post in which Blueface suggested that Martinez’s two-year-old child could be Soulja Boy’s, leading to claims of severe emotional distress from Martinez, including depression, anxiety, and panic attacks.
The original judgment awarded Martinez $123,245, which included $100,000 for pain and suffering. With accrued interest, the total amount had risen to $129,150 by mid-October, according to a declaration made by her attorney, Michael Berke.
This latest ruling comes at a critical time for Blueface, who is already dealing with numerous legal issues. In August 2024, he was sentenced to four years in prison for violating probation related to a previous assault case. He had been convicted of attacking a security guard at a lounge in North Hollywood. However, Blueface was released from North Kern State Prison in November 2025 after serving approximately 21 months of his sentence, much to the surprise of many.
Since his release, Blueface has quickly returned to the music scene with a new single titled “Babygirl,” featuring Hazel-E, and has been exploring reality TV and streaming opportunities to diversify his income. Despite these efforts, the royalty seizure represents a significant financial blow, adding to his existing liabilities of over $13 million in other civil suits.
