In a heartfelt farewell, HOT 97’s “Ebro In The Morning” has officially concluded after 13 memorable years. Hosts Ebro Darden, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez announced the show’s end today (December 12) following the final broadcast. Shortly after the show wrapped, both Ebro and Peter took to their X accounts to share the news.
Ebro tweeted, “It’s done. More to come. #EbroInTheMorning,” while Peter reflected on his journey, stating, “I lived out a childhood dream and it was amazing. Very excited for what’s next #ebrointhemorning #reallate.” Laura has yet to publicly comment on the show’s conclusion.
This significant shift in hip-hop media was anticipated by Ebro and Peter, who had voiced concerns about the new ownership at HOT 97 for some time. In September, Ebro expressed frustration over the lack of support for key programs, including DJ Enuff’s show, highlighting internal conflicts by stating, “Congratulations, you played yourself to our family up here… the new ownership of the big legend, Hot 97, didn’t give a damn about investing in this damn thing here.”
Ebro went on to discuss the operational changes at the station, lamenting, “No new studios, making cuts, cutting staff, cutting this, cutting that. Then, I hear last Thursday Flex started tweeting about his last show… I didn’t get an email, a text, I didn’t get nothing.”
Rosenberg took to Instagram to share his thoughts in a more measured manner, acknowledging the changes while hinting at potential new opportunities: “I tried to tell you guys for a long time change was afoot and change is afoot. But change can be beautiful. So, yeah, there’s some changes on the horizon, stay tuned.”
While speculation about future endeavors for the trio continues, no definitive plans have been announced as of yet. The conclusion of “Ebro In The Morning” follows the departure of DJ Enuff, who left the station in August after 27 years.
As fans reflect on the impact of “Ebro In The Morning,” its legacy within the hip-hop community remains strong. For more updates on the evolving landscape of hip-hop entertainment, be sure to visit hiphopraisedmetheblog.com.
