In a shocking incident on a quiet Saturday evening, gunfire erupted on Sheffield Avenue in Brooklyn when an unknown assailant opened fire at a crowd gathered in front of 193 Sheffield Avenue around 8:35 p.m. According to officials, the suspect brandished a firearm and fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene on foot, heading northbound along Sheffield Avenue.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as a result of the shooting. The motive for the attack is currently under investigation. Detectives are actively examining surveillance footage and are canvassing the neighborhood for potential witnesses who might have seen the shooter either before or after the incident.
Evidence collected at the scene included shell casings, and as a result, the street was temporarily closed to allow crime scene technicians to thoroughly process the area.
