In a surprising twist of events, Dame Dash’s film company recently went up for auction, but the results were far from favorable. The company sold for a mere $100.50, a stark contrast to the $1 million in defamation lawsuit judgments that the Roc-A-Fella co-founder currently owes. This auction was intended as a means to alleviate some of his financial burdens, but it certainly did not attract the anticipated interest, as reported by the New York Post.
Unsurprisingly, 50 Cent, Dash’s long-time rival, couldn’t resist chiming in. He took to Instagram to mock Dash’s misfortune, posting, “Damn $1 dollar 👀 He popped, 😆,” referencing the underwhelming auction outcome. 50 Cent’s jibe reflects his ongoing feud with Dash, which has been well-documented over the years.
So far, Dash has not publicly addressed 50 Cent’s comments, although he did share some thoughts of his own earlier this month during an appearance on AFRO TV’s Point Of View. During the segment, he criticized Netflix’s docuseries produced by 50 Cent, titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which delves into Diddy’s career and legal troubles. Dash expressed disappointment in 50 Cent for airing out what he believes should remain private, stating, “Based on moral codes and coming from a street ethic, I honestly didn’t think that [50] would ever do that. ‘Cause I wouldn’t.”
This ongoing tension between the two rappers shows no signs of resolution, especially as Dash maintains a stance of not wanting to “tear down” another Black man. He affirmed, “Let them do that,” indicating he prefers to take a higher road amidst the drama.
