Celebrity Lawsuits: Will Smith Faces Legal Action from Violinist Over Allegations of Predatory Behavior

In a shocking turn of events, renowned actor and musician Will Smith is currently embroiled in a lawsuit brought forth by violinist Brian King Joseph. The legal action, filed in a Los Angeles court, accuses Smith, alongside his management company, Treyball Studios Management, of sexual harassment, “predatory behavior,” and wrongful termination.

Brian King Joseph, who gained fame as a finalist on America’s Got Talent in 2018, alleges that during his involvement with Smith’s “Based on a True Story” tour in 2025, he experienced inappropriate conduct from the star. According to Joseph, Smith began “grooming and priming” him for potential sexual exploitation after their initial meeting in November 2024.

Joseph joined the tour in Las Vegas when it launched in March 2025, claiming that he and Smith began spending significant time together prior to the tour. He asserts that Smith expressed a unique bond between them, stating, “You and I have such a special connection that I don’t have with anyone else.”

The situation escalated when Joseph reportedly returned to his hotel room in Las Vegas to discover signs of an unauthorized entry. He claims to have found a beer bottle, HIV medication prescribed to someone else, and hospital discharge paperwork belonging to another individual in the room. A note addressed to him, allegedly left by an unknown person, hinted at a planned return for sexual encounters, which Joseph interpreted as highly alarming.

Joseph contends that only Smith’s management team had access to his room, raising suspicions about the intrusion. After reporting the incident to hotel security and Smith’s tour management, he claims he was met with disbelief and was blamed for the situation. Just days later, Joseph was dismissed from the tour, with management suggesting that the tour was “moving in a different direction,” despite another violinist being brought in to take his place.

As a result of these events, Joseph is seeking damages for PTSD and financial losses stemming from his termination, alleging retaliation, wrongful termination, and sexual harassment. His attorney has called for a jury to evaluate the compensation he deserves.

In response, Smith’s legal representative has categorically denied all allegations, labeling them as “false, baseless, and reckless.” The attorney, Allen B. Grodsky, emphasized that they would pursue all legal avenues to contest these claims and reveal the truth.

Smith’s “Based on a True Story” tour was conducted from June to September 2025 across the U.S. and Europe.
